Samsung Electronics Publishing Industry’s First 0.7 Micron (Micron) Pixel Image Sensor

Samsung Electronics today officially released the industry’s first 0.7 micron (micron) pixel image sensor, 43.7 megapixel (Mp) Samsung – ISOCELL Slim GH1.

Thanks to the advanced ISOELL Plus technology, the new ultra-high resolution GH1 image sensor can accommodate 43.7 million 0.7 um pixels in a miniature package, providing the best solution for ultra-thin full display devices.

It is reported that ISOCELL Slim GH1 is the industry’s first mobile image sensor using the industry’s smallest pixel size of 0.7 um. By using Samsung’s latest pixel isolation technology, ISOCELL Plus, the technology can minimize color crosstalk and optical loss. A tiny 0.7-micron pixel can absorb enough light to generate bright and vivid photos. In low light environment, GH1 uses Tetracell technology of pixel merging to achieve higher photosensitivity equivalent to 1.4 um pixel image sensor.

For 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution video recording, ISOCELL Slim GH1 is fully capable of shooting 4K video and minimizing FoV loss, while most high resolution image sensors cut or scale down the complete image resolution will reduce FoV. With Tetracell technology, GH1 can be converted to 3,9842,740, which covers exactly 4K (3,8402,160) resolution, allowing users to capture more detailed background when recording high-resolution video or self-timed photos at a rate of 60 frames/seconds.

At the same time, GH1 also supports gyroscope-based electronic image stabilization (EIS) and high-performance phase detection auto-focusing technology Super PD to achieve fast and accurate auto-focusing. In addition, the real-time high dynamic range (HDR) function allows users to take photos with more balanced exposure and richer colors even in a mixed light source environment.

According to official information, Samsung ISOCELL Slim GH1 is expected to be mass-produced by the end of this year, please look forward to it.
