Toshiba Introduces New 3-Phase Brushless Motor Driver – TB67B000AHG

September 30, 2019 – Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Devices Co., Ltd. (“Toshiba”) today announced the launch of its new 3-phase brushless motor driver “TB67B000AHG” for household appliances such as air conditioners, air purifiers, dehumidifiers and ceiling fans. Demand. The new driver is a new high voltage product in the “TB67B000 Series” that enables efficient brushless motor drive and reduces noise in a single package.

There is a growing demand for efficient 3-phase brushless motors that help reduce power consumption, especially for emerging economies, which are well suited to the problem of supply voltage fluctuations. Such motors require higher voltage PWM driver ICs to ensure product reliability.

Toshiba’s newly developed 600V TB67B000AHG driver IC is pin compatible with the existing 500V TB67B000HG and can be easily replaced. In addition, Toshiba is developing a more compact version of the “TB67B000AFG” in a small 34-pin HSSOP[1] package, which will be available in November 2019.

  • 600V rated voltage ensures product reliability– Compared with the existing 500V TB67B000HG, ensure that the product can better cope with voltage fluctuations. Pin compatible for easy replacement of existing ICs.
  • Rated sinusoidal PWM drive with rated voltage/current (600V/2A) in a single package–The sine wave motor control IC and IGBT (rated voltage/current value 600V/2A) are integrated in a single package. This helps reduce mounting area and improve board layout, as well as helping to reduce overall system cost.
  • Low noise, low vibration–Compared to motors with square wave drive systems, sinusoidal drive systems that use smooth current waveforms help reduce noise and reduce vibration.
