Water Level Alarm by Using D882 Transistor

The water level indicator uses a simple mechanism to detect and indicate the water level in the elevated water tank or any other water container. This paper will introduce the electronic project water level alarm by using D882 transistors.

In this project, we show a water level indicator with eight transistors, which is turned on as the water level rises, and a buzzer is added. When the water level becomes full, it will start automatically, and the buzzer will start automatically with the help of the microcontroller. With the help of this project, we not only use seven segment display to display water level, but also use buzzer to display water level.

Water Level Indicator Introduction

The water level indicator uses a simple mechanism to detect and indicate the water level in the elevated water tank or any other water container. By using a set of nine probes, the probes are placed at nine different heights on the tank wall (the height of probe 9 to probe 1 increases in sequence, and the universal probe (i.e. with the supplied probe) is located at the bottom of the container). Pot) Level 9 represents the tank full state, and level 1 represents the tank empty state.

When the water level is lower than the minimum detectable water level (MDL), the seven segment display is arranged into the display number 1, indicating that the water tank is empty. When the water level reaches level 1 (but lower than level 2), the connection between the probes is completed (through the conductive medium water), and the base voltage of the transistor increases. This will cause the base emitter junction of the transistor to be positively biased, thus switching the transistor from the cut-off mode to the on mode, so the pin (B0) of the microcontroller is pulled to the ground, so the corresponding number displayed on the seven segment display is 2. Similar mechanisms apply to all other levels of detection. When the tank is full, all inputs of the microcontroller become low and all outputs become high. This causes the display to display 9, in which case a beep will also sound,

Most water level indicators are equipped with functions for indicating and detecting individual water levels only. The water level indicator realized here can indicate up to nine such water levels, and the microcontroller displays the water level number on the seven segment display. Therefore, the circuit can not only warn that the water tank has been filled with a certain level, but also indicate that the water level has dropped below the lowest detectable level. The circuit is very important in equipment such as water cooler. When the water in the radiator is used up, there is a risk of motor burnout. It can also be used for fuel level indication.

Materials Required for the Project

  3. A bright led (or buzzer if you have)
  4. 9 Volt battery with connector

  6. Beaker(any container to filled with water)
