BAV99 Diode Introduction


The BAV99 is a dual series switching diode with two diodes in series in a small SMD package.

What is BAV99 Diode

The BAV99 is a dual series switching diode with two diodes in series in a small SMD package. The SOT-23 package has these pins, you can access the anode and cathode of diode 1 and diode 2, respectively, and the point of connecting the diode in series, as shown in the BAV99 pin diagram below. The diode has a forward current of 250mA and can withstand peak reverse voltages up to 100V, making it ideal for protection and switching applications.

This double package allows designers to package two diodes in a smaller space, saving PCB space and cost. Because they are connected in series, they can be used directly in applications that require series diodes, such as when protecting the microcontroller’s input GPIO pins.
