Incipion Published Compostable Plant Phone Case
Compostable phone cases are nothing new. Several smaller brands make boxes out of skateboards, wood, flax straw, bamboo, cork and recycled plastic fishing nets. Even ZAGG, the main mobile phone shell brand, sells mobile phone shells made of recycled water bottles. However, with Incipio joining ZAGG, it seems that the trend of environmental protection is becoming more mainstream.
Incipio’s new container is made of a plant-based material called organicore, which is expected to decompose in just six months in an industrial composting environment. However, the location of these composts may be difficult to find and they can only be decomposed if compostable plastic alternatives are stored in appropriate facilities. The case is also completely recyclable and uses water-based inks that are said to be environmentally friendly.
